On stage

Music and performance photographs by Gian Luca Barlucchi, with singers, saxophones, keyboards and the gestures of musicians at work.

The instruments are only part of the story. Hands on keys, a saxophone at rest and a singer leaning toward a microphone share the frame with portraits of the performers. Colour and black-and-white photographs trace the gestures around making music.
