Photographs of childhood by Gian Luca Barlucchi: quiet concentration, shared smiles, play and unguarded expressions in colour and black and white.

Some of these photographs pause on concentration: a chin resting on a hand, a face turned toward something outside the frame. Others follow play, a balloon or a shared smile. Together they gather the small gestures and expressions that give childhood portraits their immediacy.
